Echium pininana | Snow Tower
Echium pininana Snow Tower is a lovely biennial that produces leaves in the first year and then flowers in the second year with the most amazing white towers that can get upwards of 3m tall each holding literally 1000’s of pure white flowers with iridescent blue anthers.
The spent flower spikes can be left on the plant right into winter, as they add a striking structural presence in the winter garden. Snow Tower likes full sun and well drained soil. This plant will tolerate dry conditions, but only mild frosts, so a sheltered sunny position is best. If you have a look at our first photo, you will see a bee coming in to land!
If you ever wanted a plant to attract masses of bees then this is it - Echium pininana is an absolute bee buffet! Will self sow in warmer climates.

- All of our orders are dispatched using NZ Post which is a fully tracked service
- Our freight is calculated by weight and volume. For plant orders, you may wish to order the maximum number of plants that will fit in a box to make freight more cost-effective or perhaps share an order with a friend
- Plant orders will only be dispatched on Monday's and Tuesday's this will ensure that your order is not held in a depot over the weekend
- All parcels are set at "Authority to leave" which means if you're not home at the time of delivery the courier will leave your parcel in a safe place on your property
- Most NZ Post deliveries are a two-day service with the exception of rural and South Island delivery which may add up to two days.
